Himantura é um gênero de arraias encontradas nas águas costeiras dos oceanos Índico e Pacífico. Uma das espécies, Himantura uarnak, também está presente ao longo da costa levantina no Mediterrâneo oriental.
O nome desse gênero vem do grego iman , imantos , thong, strap e oura , tail. Esse nome é feminino
