Lema de Neyman-Pearson
Em estatística , de acordo com o lema de Neyman-Pearson , quando queremos realizar um teste de hipótese entre duas hipóteses H 0 : θ = θ 0 e H 1 : θ = θ 1 , para uma amostra , então o teste da razão de verossimilhança que rejeita H 0 para M 1 quando , onde é como
x=(X1,...,Xnão){\ displaystyle \ mathbf {x} = (X_ {1}, \ ldots, X_ {n})}eu(x,θ0)eu(x,θ1)≤kα{\ displaystyle {\ frac {{\ mathcal {L}} (\ mathbf {x}, \ theta _ {0})} {{\ mathcal {L}} (\ mathbf {x}, \ theta _ {1} )}} \ leq k _ {\ alpha}}kα{\ displaystyle k _ {\ alpha}}
P(eu(x,θ0)eu(x,θ1)≤kα|H0)=α{\ displaystyle P \ left ({\ frac {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x}}, \ theta _ {0})} {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x} }, \ theta _ {1})}} \ leq k _ {\ alpha} {\ bigg |} H_ {0} \ right) = \ alpha}, é o teste de nível mais
poderoso .
α{\ displaystyle \ alpha}Este lema tem o nome de Jerzy Neyman e Egon Sharpe Pearson em um artigo de 1931.
Na prática, na maioria das vezes, a própria razão de verossimilhança não é usada explicitamente no teste. Isso ocorre porque o teste de razão de verossimilhança acima é geralmente equivalente a um teste de formulário para uma estatística mais simples, e o teste é executado neste formulário.

Teorema: A região de rejeição ideal é definida pelo conjunto de pontos como
R0{\ displaystyle R_ {0}}x=(x1,...,xnão)∈Rnão{\ displaystyle \ mathbf {x} = (x_ {1}, \ ldots, x_ {n}) \ in \ mathbb {R} ^ {n}}
eu(x,θ0)eu(x,θ1)≤kα{\ displaystyle {\ frac {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x}}, \ theta _ {0})} {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x}}, \ theta _ {1})}} \ leq k _ {\ alpha}}onde a constante é tal que . Observe que temos os seguintes relacionamentos:
kα{\ displaystyle k _ {\ alpha}}P(x∈R0|θ0)=α{\ displaystyle P (\ mathbf {x} \ in R_ {0} | \ theta _ {0}) = \ alpha}
P(Dnão∈R0|θ0)=α=∫R0eu(x;θ0) dx{\ displaystyle P \ left ({\ textbf {D}} _ {n} \ in R_ {0} | \ theta _ {0} \ right) = \ alpha = \ int _ {R_ {0}} \! { \ mathcal {L}} (\ mathbf {x}; \ theta _ {0}) \ d \ mathbf {x}}
P(Dnão∈R0|θ1)=1-β=∫R0eu(x;θ1) dx{\ displaystyle P \ left ({\ textbf {D}} _ {n} \ in R_ {0} | \ theta _ {1} \ right) = 1- \ beta = \ int _ {R_ {0}} \ ! {\ mathcal {L}} (\ mathbf {x}; \ theta _ {1}) \ d \ mathbf {x}}
onde está a amostra.
Dnão=(x1′,...,xnão′){\ displaystyle D_ {n} = (x '_ {1}, \ ldots, x' _ {n})}
Demonstração:
Vamos primeiro mostrar que quando é uma densidade limitada, sempre existe uma constante tal que
fX(.;θ){\ displaystyle f _ {\ mathcal {X}} (.; \ theta)}k{\ displaystyle k}
P(eu(x,θ0)eu(x,θ1)>k|H0)=α{\ displaystyle P \ left ({\ frac {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x}}, \ theta _ {0})} {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x} }, \ theta _ {1})}}> k {\ bigg |} H_ {0} \ right) = \ alpha}.
De fato, quando , essa probabilidade é igual a 1. Por outro lado, essa probabilidade diminui monotonamente e continuamente em direção a zero, quando . Portanto, deve haver um valor finito , chamado que satisfaça a igualdade .
k=0{\ displaystyle k = 0}k→∞{\ displaystyle k \ rightarrow \ infty}k{\ displaystyle k}kα{\ displaystyle k _ {\ alpha}}∀α∈]0;1[{\ displaystyle \ forall \ alpha \ in] 0; 1 [}
Vamos denotar por , o seguinte subconjunto ,
R0{\ displaystyle R_ {0}}Rnão{\ displaystyle \ mathbb {R} ^ {n}}
R0≜{x∈Rnão|eu(x,θ0)eu(x,θ1)>kα}{\ displaystyle R_ {0} \ triangleq \ lbrace \ mathbf {x} \ in \ mathbb {R} ^ {n} {\ bigg |} {\ frac {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x} }, \ theta _ {0})} {{\ mathcal {L}} ({\ textbf {x}}, \ theta _ {1})}}> k _ {\ alpha} \ rbrace},
e qualquer outra parte de , de tal forma . Vamos mostrar isso
R{\ displaystyle R}Rnão{\ displaystyle \ mathbb {R} ^ {n}}P(x∈R|θ0)=α{\ displaystyle P (\ mathbf {x} \ in R | \ theta _ {0}) = \ alpha}P(x∈R0|θ1)>P(x∈R|θ1){\ displaystyle P (\ mathbf {x} \ in R_ {0} | \ theta _ {1})> P (\ mathbf {x} \ in R | \ theta _ {1})}
